![]() I ended up diggin' the wheel out tonight to race at 3unit.ca. They were running at Race City, a track where I finished 3rd last season at S1Motorsports.com in the RacingTrader.ca Late Model. I practiced 6th and 8th in the two sessions, not bad considering I had about 20 minutes of track time with this car and the blistering fast guys were only about 3/10th's ahead of me in times. Read More... Short story in the race, opted to start the rear (18th) and with a couple of quick cautions worked my way to twelfth. Got track position and pitted after a 25 lap or so green run and put myself in eighth when the leaders took themselves out. I was sixth when we went green with less than 20 to go - missed a shift on the restart and lost one position. While that happened, a driver on newer tires comes up and pinches me against the wall (see below) as he attempts to make a pass, throwing off my rhythm and hurting my old tires. I ended up battling for 8th and lost it at the end, finishing 9th of 21 cars. Not too bad in the second start of the series for me and second last ride in the #08 RacingTrader.ca Chevrolet Impala Outlaw SLM! ![]()
