Tim's Corner - Issue Three - Green Flag Racing Not Hard to Do!

If you happened to take in the last two NASCAR Racing 2003 Season races on RLMtv.com you were treated to some first class racing. Not only were we treated to some close battles on track but we saw lots of green flag racing! Out of the TT Racing League's Sunday Stock race at Atlanta and the IFRT Pro Cup Series Firecracker 300 at Charlotte, we saw a grand total of five cautions. Five yellows out of 314 laps is pretty spectacular and every driver involved in the fields should pat themselves on the back for the effort.

On Sunday it was Michael Sharp driving his #300 to victory after leading forty nine of the one hundred fourteen laps. He beat Matt Morgan's #12 and the other seventeen drivers to the line for the victory in race eight of their fifteen race season. Race one was on RLMtv earlier in 2010 and we can't wait to see them again on the airwaves!

Tuesday brought the longest race of the IFRT Pro Cup Series season with the Firecracker 300. Only one yellow slowed the event after Nick MacMillan had a "brain fade" and looped his #6 around. Once again, Kevin Pankow took his long run setup under the #18 Central Merchant Services Toyota Camry to the front to win his second race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. The field was short on Tuesday as the Menards, Dennie Daniels and John Rhine among others were absent but even with their absence, the field was stacked with talented NR2003 drivers.

Speaking of talented drivers, I am pleased to announce that the Late Model Championships for NASCAR Racing 2003 Season will be returning in 2010. Expect details to be released in the next couple of weeks for the event which is expected to be shifted to late November with the broadcast on RLMtv. If sponsorship can be found, we will also be hosting an iRacing aspect of the event to be held in December but once again will all depend on donations or sponsorship. With last years event boasting late race fireworks, you will not want to miss this one!

This weekend is a big one as well on RLMtv with four shows in four days, being kicked off with the Bob Brewer Memorial at Daytona. It is the 4th annual event celebrating the life of the sim racer from NASCAR Sim World. MRL is on the airwaves Sunday with events on Saturday and Monday as well. Don't miss it!

Until we meet again, keep the hammer down and we'll see you at the track!
